Matthew Kaemingk, PhD

Matthew grew up sailing in the Puget Sound, camping in the Cascades, and cheering for the Seattle Seahawks. Matthew serves as the Director of Fuller Institute for Theology and Northwest Culture in Seattle. He teaches courses in theology, ethics, and culture at Fuller Theological Seminary. Matthew research interests in Cascadia focus on the region’s unique spiritual and religious climate.
Matthew grew up in Everett, WA and studied Political Science at Whitworth University in Spokane, WA. He earned an Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary along with doctoral degrees in Christian Ethics at Fuller Theological Seminary and Systematic Theology from the Free University of Amsterdam. In 2011 Matthew was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to conduct research in the Netherlands on the contemporary conflict between secularism, Islam, and Christianity. While he has published articles and chapters in a number academic journals and books, he has also published in a number of popular level journals on faith and culture including Comment Magazine, Books & Culture, Fieldnotes Magazine, and the Evangelical Interfaith Dialogue Journal.
Matthew lives in Seattle Washington with his wife Heather, their three sons Calvin, Kees, and Caedmon. They attend Sanctuary Christian Reformed Church.
Shannon Sigler, MA
Managing Editor, Christ & Cascadia
Shannon Sigler is a theologian and a visual artist. She serves as the assistant director of the Fuller Institute for Theology and Northwest Culture. Her art and research center around a Wesleyan paradigm for the visual arts, as well as explorations in Christian vocation, feminism, and family life. She studied theology at Asbury Theological Seminary and art administration at Boston University. Shannon previously served as the Associate Director for CIVA | Christians in the Visual Arts. Shannon lives in Seattle with her husband, Matt, and son, Elijah.
David Arinder, MAT, currently enrolled
Assistant Editor, Christ & Cascadia
David lives in Edmonds with his wife and is currently enrolled at Fuller NW. Having moved from Missouri he has in Seattle found a new acceptance for his majestic beard and love of good beer. His theological interests include philosophy of religion, philosophical theology, and ethics.
